The Merry Adventures of Typhodi and Beladick

The Merry Adventures of Typhodi and Beladick are a collected series of legends and folk stories from the late Ferric Years. While there is featured a large cast of colorful eccentrics, the two main characters are the wise, warrior-philosopher gnome Typhodi and his bumbling, dim-witted elven assistant Beladick. Together the pair roam the land, seeking their fortunes and helping those in need.

Usually the pair is thrown into dire circumstances by the vicissitudes of fate or Beladick’s meddling attempts at magic. Through great courage, Typhodi uses his impressive intellect to trick his foes, resorting to his incredible strength and fighting prowess only as a last resort, as he is a gentle, peace-loving soul. Beladick is often more a hindrance than a help, though occasionally his quirky folk wisdom shines thorough, such as in the classic Beladick Befriends the Town Guard.

It is revealed through the course of the adventure that Typhodi is actually a gnomish king in exile for a crime he did not commit. After being reunited with his brother Zorric, a wandering holy man, and with timely assistance from the only spell that Beladick correctly cast, he regains his throne, and the trio live happily ever after.
